Lemonade Detox Diet




The lemonade detox diet was invented by an American dietician and fitness expert called Stanley Bourrough. The diet was popularized by Beyonce Knowles when she used it to lose 20 pounds for the film ‘dream girls’.
This diet allows the body to cleanse itself from the toxins and the free radicals that pollutes it. Though this diet is very popular, most people haven’t tried it while some do it the wrong way. It works, some people have confirmed that but still there is still the majority that think this diet is unhealthy. I used to be one of them.
The health practitioners and researchers have for years tried to approve or disapprove the health benefits behind the lemonade detox but when you look at it the traditional way, you will come to believe that no holy is it safe and effective. It is also not a new form of losing weight and detoxing.

Have you ever heard through your mother, father, aunt or grandma that fasting is really really good for the body? Yes it is. Fasting helps repair and cleanse the system from waste products especially toxins. We fast for many medical reasons and some of those reasons are for the elimination of some diseases. Fasting helps the body to burn more fat through the process of Ketosis (this is the condition that occurs when your body runs out of calories to burn and starts burning the stored fats). It is in stored fats that most of the harmful toxins we breathe in, eat and drink are stored.
So why not fast with a low calorie diet that can give us all the benefits of fasting and the added benefit of lemon, cayenne pepper and maple syrup.

Is it really water weight that will be lost?
My reply is yes and no. This is because like I explained earlier, fasting uses up stored fat and detox your system. Not only will this make you lose fat, it will also make you loss water that is why in this lemonade detox diet, we are advice to drink lots of water and along with the lemonade.

What is in the lemonade detox diet
The diet is practically made of:
·         Maple syrup or any other healthy unprocessed syrup but maple syrup preferable
·         Lemons
·         Cayenne pepper
·         Pure water
·         Saltwater for flushing
·         A really sizable water flask recommended.

How is it taken?
Since there are three different forms of the lemonade detox diet, the amount of lemonade you will consume per day will depend on what you choose. There is the full body cleanse (no solid food) which requires you to drink at least 2 liters of water per day, the relaxed cleanse (just lunch) requires 2-3 tall glasses for dinner and breakfast, and for the 50:50 cleanse (3 days full detox and 3 days off) you are required to drink 2-3 glasses everyday for the first 3 days and then 2-3 glasses for breakfast and dinner.
