African Mango

Before you start thinking of running to the market to get bags of mango, lol, read on. It is not the fleshy part of the mango that is used for weight-loss but an extract from this fruit called Irvingia Gabonensis is gotten from the seed of bush mango (popularly called dikka fruit of ogbono seed. I am sure Africans are familiar with that seed) and is only found in Nigeria and Cameroon.

This extract is what is said to aid in weight lost. The extract from the mango seeds have been discovered to lower bad cholesterol and increase the good cholesterol while the high amount of soluble fiber helps to reduce the absorption of soluble fiber. The major role of this fruit extract is
to help curb your appetite.
No all African mango have the same ingredients. Some are mixed with ingredients such as green tea which means it has caffeine while the pure 100% natural African mango has no additive or artificial fillers. it’s safe and contains all the fiber you will need to lose weight. The pure ones are very hard to get and that is because there are so many fakes out there.

Side Effects
Side effects from the fake are the same with the side effects of caffeine but also associated with increased appetite, some bloating, sleep disturbance, dry mouth, and flu like symptoms. Few side effects from the actual product were documented. There are some reports of increased libido.
Pregnant women and nursing mothers are strongly advised to stay away from this product. If you are on medication, consult your doctor before taking any this product. Children should not be given this product.

How should it be taken?
African mango comes as a powder, liquid and capsule. For the capsule, each of them contains 150mg of pure Irvingia Gabonensis and so dosage should be two times a day, 30 minutes before meal. For the powdered product, a measured 150mg will do and for the liquid, 10-15 drops three two times a day under the tongue will do. It is preferable according to the researchers, to take African mango with vitamin B complex and Multivitamins.

For some individuals, it might take a while, like two months for its weight-lost benefits to ‘kick in’ because it takes a period of time for the extract to increase your leptin level. Leptin is the hormone that controls your appetite. A reduced leptin level makes food very attractive, and makes you eat more while a high leptin does the reverse.
